Edit Out Loud uses the Google Text-to-Speech Engine. You need to install the app and enable it to use Edit Out Loud.
If you don't have Google Text-to-Speech engine installed, use the link below to download it from Google Play.
Once you have downloaded Google's Text-to-Speech Engine, you'll need to enable it. Follow the screenshots below.
Steps may vary. Google "enabling text-to-speech on XX phone" to get more specific directions for your device.
Go to your phone's Settings and tap More Settings
Tap Accessibility
Tap Text-to-speech output
Tap the Preferred engine bar (not the settings icon)
Select Google Text-to-speech Engine as your preferred TTS engine.
Now you can open Edit Out Loud, have your drafts read to you as you stroll around the block, and tap in comments to address later. Thank you for downloading the app!
